CRUSTLESS BREAD CANAPES

If you only serve beer and chips to your friends when they are visiting you, you don't have now excuse with these easy canapes. I'm sure your friends will appreciate your efforts to overcome  your allergy to cook.

A good tip: if it isn’t easily eaten with your fingers, it probably shouldn’t be a canapé. Be sure the canapés hold together and do not fall apart in the customers’ hands.
Canapes can be a good way to utilize leftovers, but only if the leftovers have been carefully handled and stored to retain freshness.
Each tray should carry an assortment of flavors and textures, so there is something for every taste.

Let us begin with the most basic canape: the crustless bread canape. We will obtain 4 pieces from every bread slice, that will be the basis for our canapes.
Once we cut the slices into pieces, assembling them is a matter of going with a little imagination.

In summary the most difficult thing is to make the shopping list.
And if you go a step further,  buy white or black sesame seeds, poppy seeds, dill, etc … to decorate.

Some ideas:

Smoked salmon, cream cheese and pickles canapes.

We have two versions:

-  More elaborate, cutting the salmon into strips to form a rose.

-  Or chopping and mixing salmon with the cheese to form a spreadable paste.

And if you have anything black as roe, black sesame or poppy seeds even a black olive cut into small pieces, you can decorate it much better.

But personally I prefer the sobrassada over crusty bread.

Fresh cheese and iberian ham canapes
Spread the bread with grated fresh tomato, add a pinch of  salt and olive oil. Top with one thin slice of ham and a little of  fresh cheese.
Sprinkle with oregano and ready to eat.

York Ham and cream cheese canapes:

-   Canned white asparagus  tips cut into two, a little of mayonnaise on top and a dash of balsamic vinegar of Modena.

-         Or  with walnuts...

You can also use Roquefort cheese, Danish blue., or another blue cheese.

I hope you like it :)
