The Caprese salad is an Italian salad originally from the island of Capri, although it is widespread throughout Italy, in fact I think all who have traveled to Italy have tasted it.
Italians
give
great importance to this salad because it combines the colors of the
Italian flag. A nineteenth-century poet, Francesco Dall'Ongaro, defined
these
colors in this so pretty way: "White as the Alps, red like volcanoes and
green as the plains of Lombardy"
Anyway, not wanting to bore you more, this salad is only suitable if you like basil, it is a quite prevalent flavor, and is also an ideal dish for summer dinners.
