In hot summer nights, sometimes
we prefer to have a very chilled milkshake for dinner than another thing. This
milkshake in particular with chocolate
and a good dash of Baileys is one of our favorites.
I usually prepare the milkshake after lunch so it is all the afternoon in the fridge, to be at its best
at the night, because the colder the better (you need just a little patience to
wait ...)
It is also quite quick to prepare and more if we choose to use the
spray cream. But I personally prefer to
use whipped cream cause the spray cream did not keep it's shape and turned into a liquid quickly while the
whipped cream kept it's shape. So if you want to use spray cream, decorate the
milkshake just before serving.
Well, I think the only bad
thing it is how little this wonderful
milkshake lasts, it takes only a moment to drink it … and I recommend you to take a walk after
drink it hehehe.
Ingredients (2 servings)
8 Oreo cookies or similar (add more or less cookies depending on how thick you like your milkshake)
200 ml of whole milk or semi- skimmed
3 scoops of chocolate ice cream
1 dash of Baileys coffee (if not for kids)
A little of melted dark chocolate
To decorate
Melted black chocolate, and if you like dulce de leche
Spray cream
or whipped cream, in this case:
200 ml whipping cream
1 tablespoon of powdered sugar
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
Directions
Place the milk, the ice cream and the
cookies broken in pieces in a blender container (I use a hand held blender).
Blend one minute on medium speed or until smooth. Add more cookies if
you like it thicker.
Pour the mix in the
milkshake glasses. Add to each glass a dash of Baileys or other liquor, only if
it is not for kids, and a little of the
melted chocolate (then we'll find chocolate in the batter cold).
Serve very cold and decorate just before serving with the spray cream or whipped cream.
Whipped cream:
In a deep bowl, previously cooled in the fridge (this is better to
whip the cream), put cold whipping cream. While whipping add icing sugar and
vanilla extract. Cream is whipped when
form soft peaks. Don't over-whip the cream or it turns to butter.
Put the cream on top of the milkshake with the help of a pastry
bag with starry nozzle.
Melt chocolate and pour over the cream with a teaspoon. Add if you like dulce de leche and top with a
couple of mini oreos. And enjoy!
